From the town there are magnificent views of the Cuillin mountains, popular with climbers.

There are many and varied historical sites. Castles, heritage centres, brochs, museums, potteries and craft shops on the Island, all surrounded by beautiful scenery,

There is much to do and see on Skye: most water sports are available including day and half-day sailing trips from Portree Harbour and boat trips from Waternish; there are two sporting 9 hole golf courses, pony trekking / horse-riding and hill walking to name but a few.
